Greasebusters Roof Protection System
Big problems may be piling up on your roof
Grease problems mean costly damage. Everyday grease from your kitchen exhaust fan accumulates quickly, resulting in significant roof damage and fire hazard.
Why risk being out of business for a day, a month or more due to a leaky roof or worse... a grease-born fire. Manual maintenance and flimsy grease guards are costly and often ineffective.
Issues concerning rooftop contaminants are being examined closely these days by some state and federal agencies, roofing materials manufacturers and building owners because of the ongoing problems and hazards certain contaminants can create. These contaminants include animal fats, oil and grease, which can cause premature roof system damage and raise questions about warranty coverage.
There are hundreds of thousands of commercial kitchens, restaurant chains and food-handling businesses in the United States that generate fats, oil and grease every day. A majority of fats, oil and grease that spills onto roofs and into rooftop drains generally is discharged directly to sewer systems and, in many cases, to lakes and streams without treatment. This water is not remediated before being discharged into the environment. This does not exclude runoff from rooftop grease.
This kind of pollution is a growing environmental hazard and concern that is being looked at closely by some local and federal agencies.
Here is an example of how serious the problem is: The Nov. 3, 2003, issue of Nation's Restaurant News discussed Atlanta's sewer problem. Atlanta's sewer systems made world news in March 2003 when the metro area was ranked third from last among 215 international cities because of its sewer problem, according to a survey of European business executives who had lived in Atlanta. Another interesting point is during 2000 and 2001, Atlanta had more than 700 sewage system overflows, and 50 percent of those were restaurant grease-related.
G-RPS is the Better Way
The G-RPS system absorbs vented grease at the source and keeps it from wreaking havoc on your roof. Scientifically designed and constructed in the USA , G-RPS gives you unrivaled protection against grease build-up. Here's how the patented design works.
Scoria - This porous rock (granulated lava rock) soaks up grease like a sponge while allowing rainwater to flow through unobstructed. It's non-flammable, so fire hazards are eliminated.
Drainage Board - Channels water out and air in, ensuring a dry roof beneath unit.
Grease Barrier/Assimilation Pad - A fail-safe stopping point for any grease that finds its way through the scoria maze, these very dense woven sheets absorb and hold excess grease even when not maintained.
Frame - Solid 2"x 6" frame is weather-proof and will not rot, rust or mildew in any climate. Elevated to allow water and air to circulate. All bolts are zinc-coated to prevent corrosion.
Containment Screen - A strong nylon mesh that holds scoria in place through the most turbulent conditions.
Grease Deflector - This durable one-piece rubber ring provides gap-free protection against run-off by directing all grease into the absorbent below.
Already in use in hundreds of installations throughout the country, G-RPS has proven its effectiveness in even the most demanding situations.
Let us put G-RPS to work for you. Shield yourself from the worry and grief of unbridled roof grease.
Simple Installation and Maintenance
It doesn't take an expert to install or maintain the G-RPS System. Installation takes less than an hour, with no special tools required. Everything is precut, pre-drilled and easy to assemble without alterations to the roof or fan.
Maintenance is even easier, just an occasional scoop of scoria and G-RPS is ready again to stand watch - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
G-RPS is available in 5 convenient standard sizes for all roof and fan configurations whether flat, slanted or side mounted. Custom configurations are also available.
